Virtual Screening: "Xala" by Ousmane Sembene
Watch Xala, a 1975 satire by foremost Senegalese writer and director Ousmane Sembène. The film deals with the aftermath of Senegal’s formal independence from France through a humorous narrative about the downfall of a businessman-polygamist who assumes the role of the colonialist in French-speaking Africa.
